[Piknic needs you] Public consultations regarding the future of parc Jean-Drapeau

Peter Ryaux Larsen

The next 10 years of Parc Jean-Drapeau’s future is currently being decided. And the future of the Park is also very much tied to the future of Piknic. We need to join voices to make sure that decision makers know exactly how much Montrealers want Piknic to maintain its unique formula of weekly events at Parc Jean-Drapeau.

“Piknic Électronik has called Parc Jean-Drapeau home for the last 16 years. Since 2003, hundreds of thousands of people have discovered this magnificent park in the heart of the city. We like to think that it’s partly thanks to Piknic. Over the years, Piknic Électronik has become a key event of Montreal’s summertime cultural scene; all while acquiring worldwide exposure. A concept that is now adopted in many international markets.

We want to continue to honor Parc Jean-Drapeau, to introduce it to new generations of Montrealers and tourists from all around the world and to make the Park bounce to the rhythm of thousands of festival-goers every Sunday, all summer long.

We want Parc Jean-Drapeau to continue to welcome Piknic in its original weekly format, to continue to be accessible to all citizens all while promoting a harmonious cohabitation with its neighbours.”

If you agree with the above, please sign our manifesto which we’ll officially include in our brief to Montreal’s public consultation office. The latter is in charge of advising Parc Jean-Drapeau as it develops its action plan for the next 10 years.

Let’s join forces, dear Piknickers, so our voices can be heard loud and clear.
