Piknic Électronik® is back in full force this summer at park Jean-Drapeau’s Plaine des jeux, for its 16th season. Every Sunday, from May 20th to September 30th, fans of electronic music will have to lace up their sneakers and sandals extra tight for their favourite festive get together, as Piknic welcomes them with its strongest programming yet.

Things will heat up right from the start, as Piknic Électronik will launch this 16th season with two extraordinary headliners for its traditional two-day double Piknic extravaganza. Champion DJ Anna (BR) will cap off Sunday May 20th, while Berghain grandmaster Marcel Dettman (DE) will bring the vibes the very next day. That’s just the beginning of a season jam-packed with electronic music’s best and brightest including Piknic veterans like scene fixture Claptone (DE), who will take control June 3rd, and Gui Boratto (BR) who’ll bring the fun on September 16th. New stars making their Piknic debuts include highly anticipated techno adventurer Amelie Lens (BE) on June 10th, Ninja Tune dons Bicep (GB) who’ll follow up Mall Grab (AU) on July 29th, and EDM slammer Mija (US) on July 15th. Throw in appearances by Detroit’s legendary Floorplan (US) on August 26th and a live set by electronic vanguard Henrik Shwarz (DE) for our grand finale on September 30th and you’ll see why this will be Piknic’s biggest season yet!
Alongside these superstars, Piknic is the perfect place to discover the hottest in new electronic sounds, all while having fun in the sun! Make sure to catch New York’s Anthony Naples (US) for the best in underground house, as well as our very own Ouri (QC), who stunned and amazed the masses at Igloofest this year, bothon August 26th. Fans of bass music’s darker side are in for a treat when grime & dubstep badman Kahn (GB) stops by on May 27th, while Bwana (CA), one of Piknic’s favourites, will set the mood on July 8th. On September 9th, Discwoman’s very own Ciel (CA) will be behind the decks, as will party rocker OR:LA (GB). Reserve June 17th for astral traveler X-Coast (SR) while July 29th will see us dance to tomorrow's techno according to RAÄR (FR). Finally, you won’t want to miss the Zenker Brothers (DE) on July 22nd, as this duo has a flair for the dramatic!
We also want to highlight two very special days this season – exclamation points amidst an already jam-packed summer. June 17th will feature a 30th birthday party for Paris’ Rex Club, a true dance music institution. Starting at 4PM, you’ll enjoy the sounds of Louisahhh B2B Maelstrom (US-FR), followed by Traumer (FR) and legendary club resident Molly (FR). June 24th meanwhile, will be a St-Jean special with an all-star Quebec line-up, including CRi, Ryan Playground, Tommy Kruise, and Clarian.
