INFOPROG PIKNIC » WEM + PIKNIC #10

This Saturday, Piknic Électronik will be teaming once more with Les Week-ends du monde to highlight the best in global grooves and electronic beats, and once again this will be a FREE event! Better yet, we’re also teaming up with Montreal institution Music is My Sanctuary to celebrate their 9th anniversary with an all star lineup! The fun starts with The One Tash’s new school instrumental boom bap, which combines hip hop groove and electronic sounds in equal measure, before Voyage Funktastique host Walla P comes through with his incredible modern boogie. Local legend and selecta-par-excellence Lexis will keep the good times flowing with his crate digging and seamless mixing, before UK-via-California beat scene legend Kutmah brings his next level grooves to our fair city. This is the man behind LA’s legendary Sketchbook Sessions, the roots of Low End Theory, so you can be sure Saturday’s a party you won’t want to miss!

But the fun’s not over! We’re back on Sunday for our weekly event under the Calder, with Slava Bilan kicking off the day in style with her classic house flavour. Her fellow Montrealers Head Nodders will follow her up, keeping the party bumping with more jacking sounds, ahead of our coup de grâce, the legendary Martin Buttrich. This Grammy nominated producer and DJ will combine old school to new, during his long awaited Piknic debut: we can’t wait!

Meanwhile, over at the Vidéotron Mobile stage, we’re thrilled to be hosting Kodok whose groovy beats will take you on a journey to another land, and a huge back-to-back set by Adam the Goose and Jay Newtone, tech-house masters extraordinaire. Dance floor crew, save the date!
