INFOPROG PIKNIC #14 - AUGUST 21, 2016
We’ve got two radically different sounds at Piknic this week with more variety than ever for all of our dedicated fans! First up on the Solotech stage, Montreal’s Buck Smith opens the day with the sounds of groovy and soulful house – expect broken drum patterns, sweltering instrumentation and a whole lot more. From there, we journey to the Netherlands where a couple of Rush Hour veterans will show us how its done. Label founder Antal will be showcasing his classic Afro-inflected grooves, continuing the day’s crate digging adventure through time and space, before passing the decks to San Proper, whose psychedelic grooves will bring this Piknic to a spectacular peak. Fun times guaranteed!
If you’re looking for something harder edged and mechanical, you’ll definitely want to make your way to the Videotron Mobile stage where Montreal’s Trash Family will bring their tear-out madness to their ultra-devoted fanbase. Building on electro’s most gut-shattering sonic tendencies, their combination of riddim and hardstyle sounds emphasize high energy leds and ultra distorted bass lines, all of which is guaranteed to leave dancers dazed, confused, but most of all smiling! Dopamyne will set things off with a hard-techno/gangsta-house fusion ahead of Mr.Desrapse and you can expect the heaviest dance music on Earth from both of these talented selectors. Then, Filthybeast brings his overproof sounds to the floor, rattling one and all with the most up to date sounds in bass. Finally, Mr.Nokturn will end the day with even more thundering vibes. Rebel music lovers, your time is now!
