Spring is in full swing, and it’s time for Piknic’s annual two day grand opening, so break out your dancing shoes! On May 19^th, the Piknic stage will be under the command of local groove merchants Husa Sounds, starting with the crew’s resident Mike Haddad (QC) and the bumping sounds of Swiss house expert Tony Y Not (CH) – big beats right from the start! Then, local light Adam Husa (QC) will take us on a psychedelic adventure, before the one and only Öona Dahl (US) transports the dance floor across time and space with her unique blend of upfront styles! Then, the very next day on May 20^th, the main stage will start with V.Ro (QC)’s twitchy grooves before Johnny Trika (QC) keeps us on a techno tip ahead of the legendary Dubfire (US)’s headline set, a Deep Dish clinic you can’t afford to miss.                                                                                                                                         

Meanwhile, May 19^th, the Boisé stage will be presented by Kizi Garden, beginning with Leëf b2b Ellxandra (QC)’sminimal flex, followed by Deck B B2B Toma Voglen (QC)’s funky selection and RoH (QC) taking us home with a peak time house master class. The next day, local online radio station N.10.AS will start your day right with Empress (QC)’ Afroelectronic eclecticism, NAP (QC)’s futuristic sounds and Baltra’s kaleidoscopic, emotive, hazy take on dance music. What a weekend!

Did that opening extravaganza wet your appetite for more? Well Piknic will return May 26^th and lovers of progressive soundscapes will be in for a treat at the main stage. The fun starts with Montreal’s own Simply City (QC) who’ll take us into the deepest reaches of the unknown, before Hernan Cattaneo (AR) propels us into the stratosphere with his constantly evolving approach to electronic music. It’s the deep space journey you’ve been craving!

At the second stage, Bolting Bits will present a day of soulful house, starting with of Numea Daze (QC)’s chill vibes. Then, Vancouverite Regularfantasy (CA) will deliver some bump and flex and Ostgut’s Massimiliano Pagliara (IT) will take us home with Italo Disco vibes. Come dance, relax, and of course, enjoy a picnic!
