BEST OF WEEKEND #10 | JULY 16-17 2016

TWO Piknics last weekend. You may as well have pitched a tent up under the Calder in between the two (just kidding). That was some good fun. We even wrote a best of to celebrate:

1.THE FREE PIKNIC AT WEM

Last Saturday, we held a free Piknic with “Week-ends du monde” celebrating Music Is My Sanctuary’s 9th anniversary, and good gosh it was colourful! Special shout out to KUTMAH whose set was absolutely NUTS. The footwork he dropped even started a moshpit! Later that night, he told us that he’ll never see anything like that ever again. You’ll just have to come back to Piknic for that, my dear KUTMAH!

2.TWO PREGNANT DJS

That same weekend, not one but two DJs played a set while bearing child. No big deal for these two pros, but definitely a FIRST for us. Let’s just say that we had our medical team on standby to make sure everything was on the level. One thing’s for sure, those buns in the oven didn’t stop The One Tash and Slava Bilan from making us dance. BIG UPS to these two future mamas!

3.KodoK and his vinyl

Sunday, KodoK kicked off the Vidéotron Mobile stage by dropping some house in an oldschool style, entirely on vinyl. A HUGE SUCCESS!

4. OUR GUEST INSTAGRAMMER OF THE WEEK

A new fav’: our guest Instagrammer of the week. He’s got a keen eye, that one. Follow him on Instagram @david.trg and check out the photos he took for Piknic on our Instagram!

5.MARTIN BUTTRICH’S AMAZING SET

For the last date of his North-American tour, Martin Buttrich rolled through Piknic with a tear-out set. We LOVED when he threw his hands in the air. We just had to respond in kind. Of course, it all ended with our favourite chant: ONE MORE SONG! ONE MORE SONG! No surprise there.

See you Sunday at Floralies! Along with the Petit Piknic for kids, our friends at MEG Festival, who helped put together the line up, will be in the house! Don’t miss out, we’ll see you there!
