BEST OF PIKNIC #8

Techno fans at Piknic were all smiles last weekend. This one was rough and tumble, with no room for delicate interludes. And best believe, the Euro match didn’t stop anyone from coming to their favourite party!

Here’s our top 5 memories for Piknic #8 2016:

1. A dinosaur 

Congrats to whoever brought that wonderful blow-up dinosaur. Now THAT’s dedication! The Solotech stage never had so much bite. #jurassicpark

2. Louisahhh’s brutal beats 

Don’t let her good girl looks, cute dress and big smile fool you: Louisahhh blew us away with one of the hardest sets we’ve heard in recent memory, ending Piknic on a high note. #Dontjudgeabookbyitscover. It was so great that we even got a “moshpit” going in the crowd. That’s a first for Piknic (we think)! By the end of her set, the crowd was chanting: “LOUISAHHH, LOUISAHHH, LOUISAHHH!” Wow! Piknic was the first set of her tour and as she walked off stage she couldn’t help but exclaim: “It’ll be tough to top that!” We already want to see her play again!

5. RAIN!  

A quick refreshing cloudburst hit Piknic right in the middle of Louisahhh’s set. It was just enough to refresh the dance floor, freak out the crowd and push everyone to dance even harder. There were wet t-shirts everywhere, but we even saw a few girls who’d brought their swimsuits. Now THAT’S good planning! Of course, we took plenty of pictures (No, not of the girls. Of the rain, obviously.)

4. CISM

The gang from Montreal radio institution CISM 89,3 we’re in the house this Sunday. As we walked by their booth, they gave us a smile, a bouquet and… POP CORN. #passion Movie theater pop corn to boot. From a real pop corn maker. Always lovely to catch up with them.

5. Our TOPSHOP TOPMAN PIKNICSWAG finalist of the week! 

A giant round of applause for @zachnf, our Topshop Topman Piknicswag contest finalist of the week. The Mona Lisa figure instantly won us over. A real work of art. NOW IT’S YOUR TURN TO SHINE! We crown one finalist per weekend and all our finalists are in the running to win a 500$ wardrobe chosen alongside a personal stylist! Go cray-cray with your swag, take a pic, put it on “Insta” and you’re ALL SET.

That’s that. See you this Sundy at Piknic #9 with tINI, Rasho, The Doctors and Moody Jones. Even if the weather isn’t looking up, hope springs eternal. Save your energy because this Sunday afternoon and evening is going to be NUTS. Kisses!
