BEST OF PIKNIC #7

Toshimi Jan Muñiz

There’s no denying it, we’re still tapping our toes after last Sunday’s Piknic! We just want to say: it was the best Piknic ever. Talented, generous and ultra-friendly artists meant the crowd went absolutely crazy. WE FLIPPED OUT.

Here’s our absolutely favourite of Piknic #7’s many wonderful moments:

1.Awsum Kulture on the Vidéotron mobile stage

Aswum Kulture : what an amazing collective! We’re 100% certain that those who hadn’t heard them yet were blown away. We have to admit, it was really difficult deciding which stage to stick with when both crews were delivering such amazing music. Congrats to Zepha, VeroniKa and Oliver for the cray cray vibes at the Vidéotron mobile stage. The crowd were losing their minds (and so were we). New favourites alert! To quote VeroniKa: “We have to get off our cloud now.” Not that we wanted to. Follow Awsum Kulture’s social media for their next performances. We’ll definitely be there.

2.Boris Cool Twister

Playing a game while sipping a drink: a great combination. Especially if the game is twister. Boris Cool proposed a friendly game of Twister and some of their refreshing drinks. An absolute must given that scorching weather. If you missed out, they’ll be back this Sunday July 3rd by the Calder. PS: Don’t forget to stretch first! #lefthandonred

3.Those delicious burrito bowls

A picture says a thousand words. You need to try this out at La Mangeoire. It’s like a flavour party in your mouth. Worth it! Image title

4. Le set live de Nick Monaco

Nick Monaco and his band blew us away with the live version of their Half Naked album. Absolute perfection given the day’s weather and mood. Listen to the album HERE. What a talented guy! Let us know what you think!

5. The Crew Love gang

Seriously, those guys are nuts. Can’t stop ‘em. The boys spent the day non-stop dancing on stage while switching it up behind the decks. Let it be known: Soul Clap, Wolf + Lamb and Nick Monaco know how to rock a party!Image title

AMAZING. We even caught a bit of their set on Facebook Live. Relive it HERE.

6.Nick Monaco’s lipstick

We’re used to seeing Nick Monaco with a grill full of lipstick, sorted was weird that he didn’t wear any on Sunday. We got on the case, and found him some. SORTED. It may not have been his freak flag, but he was thankful nonetheless. Take a look at the final results. Picture by Christo from social media. #gorgeouslips

7. The finale

Just a quick look back at this Piknic’s grand finale. The whole crew on stage and on the dance floor had just one wish: to dance, sure: BUT TO KEEP GOING FOREVER! Cheeky moment: all the artists (and the on stage crew) fell to the floor when the music stopped. An incredible moment. Thanks for the memories gang.

See you on Sunday for the eight Piknic of the season with Louisahhh, Lena Willikens and DJ Luv’s records. We’re sure we’ll have more amazing moments to share. SEE YOU THERE.
