BEST OF PIKNIC #3

Sunday’s Piknic was May’s last, but certainly not May’s least! The event was a perfect example of the “two stages, two moods” concept. A well-deserved round of applause for the whole team. #magic Also, a huge thanks to all of our artists who gave 110% to make us groove: Alexa Jurjan, DJ Killa-Jewel, DJ OKIN, Audio Sin, VILIFY and Len Faki.

Now, our favorite moments from this wonderful and inspiring Piknic #3:

1. MOTHER NATURE, A TRICKSTER

CBC weather and Mother Nature pulled a fast one on us. Up until the last moment, we thought rain and weather would keep us from dancing under the Calder: SURPRISE! Shining sun and a real heat wave powered us through this third Piknic of the season. Thanks for a wonderful day under the sun. Let’s do it again! #happy

2. UNLIMITED MUSIC PEDAL BOATS

Sunday marked the long-awaited arrival of our “unlimited music pedal boats”. We were so excited, we barely slept a wink the night before. It’s no understatement to say they were a huge hit! It was wonderful to see all of those smiling faces glide on Swan Lake while listening to their choice of music. A dream come true. Want to take a ride? Go to Videotron Mobile Island this Sunday. 3. SWAN'S LAKE LIFEGUARD

Just ‘cause we want his job. Gliding around on a boat all day, watching people have fun in the pedal boats, listening to bits of passing tunes while remaining EVER VIGILANT. Bravo! We’ve got a new nickname for him: guardian of the waters. We don’t know who he is but he was a joy to talk to, specially if we were trying to hide the fact that we were having trouble with our pedal boats. #amateurs

4. DJ OKIN b2b AUDIO SIN AT THE SOLOTECH STAGE

DJ OKIN and Audio Sin kept it bumping at the Solotech Stage. Not that we aren’t always in a festive mood, but it’s worth noting that DJ OKIN (a friend of Piknic’s) was celebrating his birthday and that definitely gave us all an extra boost. HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Here’s hoping you had fun (as if there was any doubt). We did.

5. LOFT STORY'S ARCADIO

Sometimes, the stars roll through Piknic. This time, Arcadio gave us a visit. Arcadio as in “ARCADIO from the hit Quebec TV show LOFT STORY”. Not sure who we’re talking about? Click HERE.

6. VILIFY

Over at the Videotron Mobile Stage, we welcomed back a prodigal daughter who now lives in Berlin: VILIFY! Her fans were doubly happy to see her given that her Piknic performance last year was cancelled due to inclement weather. Let’s just say she was well worth the wait.

7. THE WATER (AND BEER) GUY

The biggest man on site found a heck of a job: delivering water (and beer) to the dance floor! One thing’s for sure, anyone who drank a drop owes him some big thanks: he’s a giant among men. A lovely new addition for anyone who doesn’t want to miss a second on the dance floor.

8. THE POWER RANGER

We’re always stunned by the creativity of your costumes. Still, a whole Power Ranger kit? That’s SOMETHING. A huge shout out to a great idea and true grit (in that heat… sticking to the costume took some gumption). #gogopowerranger

9. LEN FAKI

Sunday ended with some hard techno courtesy of Len Faki and it wasn’t for the faint of heart. The Berlin DJ brought that Berghain vibe (but outdoors, no repurposed warehouse needed). We loved it. And so did you apparently.

10. OUR SECOND TOPSHOP TOPMAN PIKNICSWAG CONTEST WINNER
