The Goods Soundsystem

The GOODS was started in August of 2002 by resident DJs Scott C and Andy Williams to provide a warm alternative to the average Montreal night out. For the past 12 years on the last Saturday of every month, the dance-floor at Sala Rossa has been filled with sounds of funk, soul, jazz, hip hop, Afro-Latin and Brazilian grooves, not to mention flourishes of underground disco, reggae, broken-beat, house, techno, footwork and more. The GOODS only mandate is great music, whether it’s known, forgotten, or yet to be discovered. With respect to vinyl and the history of recorded music, as well as technology and the digital era, guests are encouraged to embrace the always enthusiastic GOODS crowd with an eclectic, open format approach. Notable guests over the last 12 years have been many, including international names like Lefto, Mr. Scruff, WeFunk, DJ Spinna, The Souljazz Orchestra, Andy Simth, Quantic, Mark de Clive Lowe, Bembe Segue, Zaki Ibrahim, Kahil El Zabar, Russ Dewbury, Mad Mats, DJ Nu-Mark, Tahira, Nickodemus, Domu, Bugz in the Attic, Karl Injex, Christian Pronovost, Slakah the Beatchild, Rich Medina and many more. Soulful dance-floor movements have definitely found a home in Montreal. The GOODS Radio Show can be heard Sundays from 2-4PM EST on CKUT 90.3FM or CKUT.CA
