HAAi

London-based, Australian-born producer, songwriter and DJ, HAAi is known for her boundary pushing blend of psychedelia, techno and powerful beats. Following the release of her critically acclaimed 2022 album Baby, We’re Ascending, her “career-defining” DJ-Kicks in 2023, and her single Lights Out with Fred again.. and Romy, HAAi has solidified her reputation as one of the most innovative artists in electronic music. Her forthcoming second album, HUMANiSE (due 2025), represents a bold evolution in her artistry.

HUMANiSE reckons with what it is to be human in an increasingly digital world, as AI threatens to eclipse everything and our screens separate us from each other. The result is an ambitious and thrilling epic: a sonic step up for the producer, she has created her own techno-pop sci-fi, exploring the sweet spot between machine-led dystopia and emotion-filled utopia.

This theme is powerfully illustrated through the accompanying creative. Collaborating with visual artist Thomas Rawle (Skrillex, Tiga, Bjarki), HAAi uses the stark, utilitarian aesthetic of 90s technology—built for function, not beauty—to highlight the irony that these mechanical devices capture and portray the chaotic, untamed forces of nature, creating a striking juxtaposition between the organic and the artificial.

“Throughout the album, I kept thinking about a machine with a human heart,” she says. “Previously I’ve hidden behind a laptop, or behind the decks, but I’ve been inspired to return to my songwriting roots and use my voice more in my own music.” On HUMANiSE, her vocals are front and centre, stunningly delicate and giving a newfound dimension to her kinetic productions. “Not a lot of people realized it was me singing on Baby…” she continues, “so with HUMANiSE, I wanted to fully embrace using my voice and bring it to the forefront.”

Featuring collaborations with Jon Hopkins, Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), KAM-BU and notable vocal contributions from Obi Franky, Trans Voice Choir and James Messiah, the project highlights HAAi’s versatility as a vocalist, songwriter, and producer, and reflects her naturally collaborative creative process.

Among the album’s most anthemic tracks is first single Can’t Stand To Lose, in which HAAi reckons with her fast-paced life on the road and yearns to be with her partner. This deeply emotive song sets the tone for an album that is both introspective and celebratory.

Outside of her own productions, HAAi is known for her dynamic, tempo-shifting DJ sets. In 2024, HAAi played over 100 shows across five continents, 30 countries, and 91 cities. She took to the biggest stages at festivals such as Glastonbury, Sonar, and EDC Las Vegas, while also delivering sets at local parties including Japan’s Rainbow Disco Club, Berlin’s RSO and Paris’ iconic Rex Club, where she held a year-long residency. In-between, HAAi was playing b2bs with friends like KI/KI, Jennifer Cardini, The Blessed Madonna and Solomun.

2024 also saw the launch of UNiSON, her community-focused party brand that featured surprise back-to-back sets with Boys Noize, DJ Boring and Romy, alongside a room programmed with emerging artists discovered via HAAi’s Submit to Play platform. UNiSON has become a platform for HAAi to uplift rising talent while creating an inclusive and boundary-pushing space for club culture.

From her beginnings as a singer-songwriter in Western Australia to her rise as a globally renowned producer, songwriter and DJ, HAAi continues to push boundaries and redefine the possibilities of electronic music.
