Get ready for thrills! But this for our penultimate edition, we’re not slacking up one bit, as we’re welcoming legends from the heart of dance music and some local superstars to boot! At the Solotech stage, it all begins with the sounds of Deadlift AKA djboyzclub, who’ll return to Montreal from her current home of Berlin, bringing the underground techno our feet crave. Next up, Driss Skali will take us on a tour of the sophisticated soundscapes and beats he’s delivered across Montreal after-hours mainstays like Circus and Stereo before making way for the one and only Ellen Allien. This Berlin techno Goddess and BPitch Control founder is a dance music treasure and we just can’t wait for her first set at Piknic since 2010.

Over at the Videotron Mobile stage, we’re thrilled to welcome Montreal art collective 8Day since their previous appearance had been canceled due to rain. They’ll take control with the absolute deepest of techno, starting with the sounds of CHIINO’s intricate sound design and groove to please one and all. DJ duo SinonIM aka Michael & Sony are up next, and their analog rhythms and subterranean bass lines will propel the day to new heights all while keeping things subtle and minimal – we’re certain that’ll hit the spot. Finally, Montreal’s Rafa Pineda will close out the day with unique and dubby musical world, completing this tour de force. We can’t wait!
