Just like that we are well and truly over the half way mark with only 5 more Piknics to go, we’ve had an amazing few weeks at Piknic Electronik Melbourne and the party went on in all kinds of weather. With Paul Woolford bringing the acid as the heavens opened up during Piknic #6, the dancefloor did not get hindered by the downpour and was quite a memorable Piknic experience.
Piknic #7 was a double header of quality music with La Fleur playing her hypnotic deep techno and Deetron showing us yet again why he is one of the greatest DJs of all time, playing three decks so effortlessly and moving from house, to techno, to disco and back again.
This week the ladies are taking over Piknic #8 with an all female lineup, headlining the day we have tINI, straight from Berlin and one of Germany’s most highly acclaimed female artists in techno and house music.
Joining tINI is one of Poland’s most exciting electronic music acts - An On Bast. Over the years she has built a solid reputation for quality house and techno hardware live sets. Exceptional combination of her vibrant imagination and excellent technique gives the unique experience on the dance floor. We must not forget the locals Danni B, Eluize and Jade May each bringing their own unique flavour to the Piknic dancefloor.
Petit Piknic has been quite a hive of activity this season with jumping castles, face painting, hoola hoop workshops and an ever changing roster of fun that will continue throughout the season. In food, this week we welcome the little brother truck to one of our favourite’s - Toast, aptly named Von Crumb, which is all about the perfect schnitzel sandwich. The Good Neighbours food truck also joins us for the first time serving up a delicious variety of street foods - fries, streetcorn, fried chicken, roti tacos, burgers and magnum pops!! YUM.
