Resolve and evolution are at the basis of all of DJ Pierre de Lux’s (a.k.a Pierre-Luc Bareil) projects. Well-rooted in the music scene since the early 2000’s he has touched upon everything from event promotion to remixing and electronic music producing. Versatile as he is, Pierre gets his audience going every time whether it be at a rave, a club, an afterhours, a lounge or even just a happy hour. Early in his career, his sound was more techno/trance but has evolved to more of a house/deep house sound over the years. Circus Afterhours, the Dagobert in Québec city, Parking Nightclub and the prestigious Pub St-Germain in Paris are just a few of the dots on his usual circuit.

ELIAZAR

Eliazar has been spinning tunes around the globe, while collecting music throughout his travels and nomadic lifestyle for over 20 years. From residencies in locations as diverse as Osaka and Hiroshima, Christchurch, Portland, Vancouver, and Long Beach. The sounds have now found a home in Montreal at Divan Orange and Sala Rossa for the Balkan Beats Montreal events and our Speakeasy Electro Swing nights.

DON MESCAL

Born in France, Don Mescal has called himself a Montreal resident for the last five years. He bought his first turntable at 17, and since then he’s taken it with him on his travels across France, Australia, and Quebec. Since the beginning, he’s never slowed down in his search for new sounds. Versatile in every sense, Don Mescal doesn’t limit himself to any one style. His bag is filled with electro swing, Balkan, Bootleg, deep funk, tropical madness, and much more.

KHALIL

Born in Belgium, Khalil moved to the UK at the age of 13. Although he only arrived in Montreal two years ago, he is already calling it home. With a musical background heavily influenced by his constant travels and bohemian lifestyle, he has steadily made a name for himself as a VJ under VJ BXL and more recently as a regular face behind the decks at the infamous Balkan Beats and Electroswing nights as well as other loft parties and underground psychedelic events.

Smokey Joe & The Kid is a duo featuring Bordeaux’s musical mafia heavyweight, and The Kid (aka Senbeï), a cheeky teen from Paris turned master of the turntable. Stemming from a ‘30s gangster aesthetic, they integrate remixes and original tracks with an electro/hip-hop/swing style. Individually or together, Smokey Joe and The Kid have shared the stage with Chinese Man, Caravan Palace, DJ Krush, Wax Tailor and Bonobo.

Dominic Daoust made a name for himself as the creator of the Funk der Ground nights at the now defunct Salon Pearl, and eventually joined the organizational team of the Panorama Festival. A fan of dark and minimalist ambient sounds, sustained bass lines, rhythmic percussions and gliding grooves, Daoust proposes a blend of minimal house, glitch, tech house and minimal techno. His exhilarating performances at Salon Daomé, the Panorama Festival, at Circus Afterhours and on Techno.FM have been duly noted.

In early 2007 Giuseppe Marchegiano began to produce under the pseudonym of Hubble, shortly after the release of his first vinyl on Moulton label, he began to gather support from the underground and techno scene in Berlin and on international level.  His productions and tracks are considered precious rarities as they are only printed on limited edition series, in fact he likes to consider his works as tools to be played by close friends not necessairly intended to be officially released. Hubble’s “long hypnotic journeys” as they call them are available only to a lucky few.
