A pioneer of Montreal’s electronic scene, Maus had already shared the stage with artists such as David Bowie, Moby, Gus Gus, St-Germain, Roni Size and Amon Tobin by 1998. She continues to make significant contributions to the development of the local underground scene, while working on her own musical productions, some of which have been released by the Canadian label, Thoughtless Music, in recent years. Resident DJ at Stereo for 3 years, Maus favours heavy beats paired with disco-inspired bass lines and deep ambient threads.

Just as Alfred Hitchcock made history and popularized the principles of cinematic sound without taking away from the film, MacGuffin, sees his work on the dance floor as a similar vehicle, where analog synths, vinyl samples and happy accidents in the recording studio come together to create  a festive atmosphere. Though MacGuffin is at the commands of the music, the real show takes place on the dance floor.

Montreal duo The Gulf Stream takes hip-hop templates and feeds them into the hungry mouth of international bass music. Composed of Kodok (Ivann Uruena) and Archibald Singleton (Jérôme Guilleaume), when they first geared up to jam the pair were a ways off from knowing that they would have such fun playing together. As they grew musically, they forged their sound around a mid-tempo hip-hop, full of subtle samples, melodic synths and powerful basses. Anything goes when it comes to samples. The live set they play is always evolving, full of glitches and as they never stopped jamming, new compositions keep emerging each time they play.
