BEST OF PIKNIC #14

They said all week it would rain on Sunday. And it did rain. Boy did it rain. But we had our eyes glued to the weather forecast, and we knew the sun would come out by the evening. Gathering our courage, and armed with our raincoats, we set up shop and got ready for the downpour, all to welcome our REAL fans, the ones who wouldn’t let a little (or a lot) of rain stop them. We opened at 5, it stopped raining by 7, and we ended at 10. Honestly, the 500 brave souls who came out gave it their all and left with no regrets. An intimate Piknic, and a magical one. Mini best of for a mini Piknic.

#1 Double rainbow!

To reward our bravery, Mother Nature had a surprise for us. A CRAZY double rainbow (pictures never do those justice) and an incredible sunset that lit up the Calder like never before.

#2 – Our favourites of the day

They were there from the start and danced to the last beat. They made our day, and the day of anyone who met them and just had to join in the fun.

#3 – The big bunch of courageous teens

There had to be 20, or even 50 of these kids, all moving together. They were beautiful, young, lively and could care less about the rain. The future of dance music is safe in their hands!

Do you know how hard it is to set up a stage in the pouring rain? It’s INTENSE. But our we did it with a smile because we have an AWESOME team and they’re ready for anything, rain or shine (if possible), so you can attend your favourite event. A massive round of applause for l’Ekip Piknic!
