2 days of Osheaga !

NÔZE SAID IT: YOU HAVE TO DANCE ALL NIGHT!

Arriving to Piknic this past Sunday was like arriving at an oasis in the middle of a desert. It was a long walk over to the Piknic site through a wall of heavy metal, and so what a relief it was to finally arrive to the rhythmic undercurrents of Claire! The afternoon locked into step with a live set by dDamage, which proved to be an excellent way to exfoliate our soundsystem and give Heavy MTL a run for its money...

THIS SUNDAY: PIKNIC CELEBRATES THE CAMPER’S CHRISTMAS
Since Piknic has scored a bangin’ concentration of international artists this weekend, we find it necessary to make them aware of Quebec’s traditional July 25thfestivities, the day when all proud camping Quebecers celebrate the summer’s Christmas.
And you’re not going to find a patch of nature closer than the one we’ve provided at the the Jardins des Floralies, where we’ll be wearing Santa hats and other decorations to inaugurate the major celebration that is the Christmas Camper.
A trove of pleasantries, this Sunday, we kid you not! We’re waiting with baited breath for an onslaught of electro acts who will all converge upon the decks in one fell swoop, to invade your feet and make you dance like a summer elf. Zombie Disco Squad, Nôze, dDamage and Claire are waiting for you with fierce electro and improvisational fusion.
PODCASTS: WE REALLY CAN’T STOP PROGRESS
Because Piknic Electronik shouldn’t just mean sun, lawns, picnics, hot ladies and cool guys, but also good sounds and great DJs, we bring you the electronic side of Piknic, the Piknic 2010 podcasts! On the website you’ll find a new section entitled PODCAST, with some of the most memorable sets from past years. Look! There’s also an RSS feed!
We can’t wait any longer, here you go: a DJ set from Elio Krass, recorded during the 8th season of the Piknic Electronik.
JULY 25: BACK AT FLORALIES WITH MEG
The following Sunday, MEG Montreal and Piknic Electronik have an island date to roll around in the grass and pick flowers for each other, because that’s what young love does to people on hot summer days. For the hook-up, we’ve enlisted a sexy soundtrack featuring Nôze, dDamage, Zombie Disco Squad and Claire.
Thill then, we give you...
BASSNECTAR’S GONNA SHAKE UP THE FLORALIES
Over the course of this very hot summer, many of you have been asking us: when are we gonna throw a party a Piknic’s alternate site? Well, wait no more! This Sunday, the Piknic picks up its DJ booth and moves to the Jardins des Floralies. Lexis, Vilify & Construct, Dig-iT-al and Bassnectar will help us air out this little-used corner of Ile Ste Helene with their deep, dust-busting subwoofer bass riffs and their natty mouthwork. Which brings us to our next missive. Beware all sensitive ears, this weekend is all about tinnitus-inducing bass.
HOW TO GET TO THE FLORALIES

BASSNECTAR ON JULY 18TH

Bassnectar will be in town the week after for a booming dubstep Piknic! Here’s a free remix he prepared just for you, because he knows you like downloading stuff without paying for it!
THIS WEEK: A BREAK
That’s right, Sunday’s a sad day for the yellow line this week, as Piknic goes on holiday for July 11th. BUT BUT BUT, it’s also the FIFA finals that day, and we would have turned you away at the gates anyways if you’d tried to come dance instead of watching Spain kick some Dutch ass. Not that we have preferences!
REVIEW OF THE 4th OF JULY

Hard to ask more of Mother Nature than the good times that we had last Sunday. We keep asking her to spoil us, and she keeps giving in! Was it ever hot. And while we’d rather complain about the discomfort sometimes, don’t tell her we said so, but we really do appreciate Mama Nature’s homespun generosity.
