THROUGH THE LENS OF... ANOUK VALLIÈRES
This week, we present you a video project by Anouk Vallières, and 18-year-old film major. We’ll let her handle the introductions!
Before I began my current studies, I had an interest in photography. At 12 years old, I bought my first camera. I soon asked my mom to install black curtains in my bedroom so I could use it as a studio. At that time, my dream was to become professional photographer and tour the world...
I entered CEGEP as a literature student, with a specialization in cinema. It was then that I really developed a taste for the seventh art.
As part of my studies, I wanted to focus on an aspect of Piknic that was close to my heart. We all know that Montreal is renowned as a multicultural city, which is what makes it a dynamic metropolis. Piknic Electronik is a reflection of our city, a sort of miniature representation of the metropolis where people of all ages and backgrounds can dance in harmony.
So, for my clip, I was looking for an energetic beat from... Quebec! This is why I used an excerpt from DJ Maus, who set the Piknic ablaze last June 24th.
In the end, you could say that, for me, Piknic Electronik is a nice way to travel without leaving home!
